Yes. There are no circumstances where you can't get another lawyer except, perhaps, if he's been court appointed. Even then, you can petition the court to get a different guy.
1: Unless he is a court appointed attorney, or you have a contract for services, then you have every right to fire him and go with someone else.
2: Even if you have a contract if you have evidence to show that he lied to you then you can fire him and hire another.
3: If he did lie to you then that is an ethical violation that you could A, win damages from and B, file a complaint against him with your state's bar association.

to them. If this does not bring results, lodge a complaint
with the Law Society or the Bar Association about ur lawyer. Lawyers hate this. If you have the time and the stamina, approach the court house and ask for advise or contact
some law students who will help you to take the matter
before a judge .
