What do you think would be a reason a board of directors would seek outside advice?

In most cases, it has to deal with regulatory/legal issues as well as strategic planning, particularly for mergers and acquisitions. In general, it is done because the board does not believe it has the resources to affirm a decision, topic, or issue, upon itself so it seeks either validation, an answer, or an objective outside opinion from experts. What do you think would be a reason a board of directors would seek outside advice?
probably to keep things diplomatic and avoid conflict of interestWhat do you think would be a reason a board of directors would seek outside advice?
On what?

we all seek ';advice'; to better our business, except those who fail..
Possibly for some assurance of a possible decision made by a worker or to try and be sure that a bussiness/company wo'nt have to forfeit any possibly needed funds -- setting a company back or even to try and stop it from bankruptcy !?! .,.';R';r`r,r'r,r`.
