It depends on the type of business... in my particular case, i started a Design Studio looking the perfect natural shapes, then i began to mix that natural stuff with common images focused on the project i wanted to develop. I don't know, when i need inspiration i just go outside i try to relax a take deep breath series, and then i look around for the perfect shapes, sounds and scents to expand my ideas...Where should you seek inspiration and practical advice when trying to start your own business?
Other local small business owners are usually the most helpful and encouraging. Most free business consultants are like talking to bankers - you'll leave wishing you never went.
How you checked with your local county? I know my county in Virginia offers workshops and seminars specifically for small business owners and those looking to begin one. They even provide resources of what types of businesses they believe are needed in the county. hope that helps!

From what I have been told, business incubators are a wonderful resource for people that are starting up a new business. You could also start networking with other business owners in your industry and talk to them about how they were able to start their businesses. They are usually very helpful.
there are many business cunsultants in every field of bus u want to go into. but your best results can come from the oldest bus of the type you want in the area u r in and other areas. IE, talk to your competiters. They will give u an idea if your angel is original plus the base of operations that has been proven to work.
