Why might the President seek the advice of certain cabinet members?

The president is extremely intelligent but sometimes needs different areas of expertise. It takes a team to run a company, can you imagine running the United States? Is this your homework? Why might the President seek the advice of certain cabinet members?
That's WHY he has a cabinet - those people are expected to become as well-informed in their area as possible, whether that be defense, public health, public education or whatever - then to condense it down and inform the President without all the extraneous clutter and claptrap.

Is it a perfect system? Humans are imperfect beings, and of course there'll be the occasional screw-up...sometimes major screw-ups. But it has worked pretty well despite human failings ever since George Washington...I don't think we're ready to scrap the system just yet!Why might the President seek the advice of certain cabinet members?
Some presidents,( Bush especially) filed cabinet posts with friends, cronies and major contributors.

This is why the advice he received was worthless.

The only posts I am familiar with are science related, Obama has filled them with scientists.

I have hope.
No President (or person, except me) can be an expert on everything. The cabinet is a group of advisers who monitor certain aspects of the country and are up to date on things(technically).
Because he doesn't have that many ';eyes'; to look out of so many topics and areas. He needs the advice of the Cabinet members.
The world is complex and no one person knows all there is to know. To make a good decision, he needs the help of experts who specialize in different areas.
Because Presidents need expert advice and cabinet members are suppose to be experts.
Maybe it's because he has no experience and doesn't know what he's doing.
because they are called YES men they always say what obama wants to hear
cause hes an idiot...
